I've flipped about half my watches out of the collection to rationalize it (remove "redundant pieces and ones I simply was not wearing) and got the collection down to 7 pieces in anticipation of three new pieces arriving. One of them has arrived, my new Brew HP-1 from Brew Watches founder and designer, Jonathan Ferrer.

Not mine, but a select few cell phone pic's from my brother's collection. He primarily collects railroad watches. Only three do I know anything about. The first one is a 21-jewel Waltham Crescent Street. Second is a 21-jewel Elgin B. W. Raymond. Third is a Hampden with a William McKinley movement. That's the limit of my knowledge.

Cool stuff Glenn, love the 17 jewel Canadian Pacific piece ! can you tell me more about it, I've never seen one before with the actual railroad so named within the movement, was it a presentation watch by chance ?

Dave - from my brother: " they were made for the cpr. some were made which said 'canadian time services' as well, which were mostly for other canadian rr's. mine was made in 1891. it has an 1883 17 jewel movement of which apparently only a few more than a thousand were made. it is pendant set which was not allowed on usa rr's as they had to be lever set. some had 1892 movements which came in both 17 and 21 jewel movements. in the shape mine is in it's about a $1000 worth of watch."

My brother has about 40 watches in his collection at any one time. He probably buys & sells a half-dozen a year, as the mood strikes. He uses them all, in turn.

Quite a nice collection (would not call it "modest" - I have one nice watch and sometimes i feel extravagant )

just added an Omega 'Commanders Watch' (007) to my collection, comes with both bracelet (pictured) and a nice NATO strap.
