i'm trying to match up my rel g1's with my ls50's, yes i know its a bit much, but wondering to let the ls50's run full and let the subs pick up the bottom end, does one set the subs crossover at the ls50's 3db range(79hz) or 6db(47hz) range?

I'm not sure what exact setting the crossover is because most of the knob is not labeled but I like the way it sounds with the knob just above 9 o clock on the t7's.

Have you considered a Rythmik F12 or G12?
My father has the LS 50s with two Rythmik F12s. It is very impressive. |

I would think that matching a really quick 10 inch sub with the KEFs would do the trick. I had the 50s matched with the E110s and with the active xover was able to get terrific results. YMMV

The size of the subwoofer would not matter. Many larger subwoofers are just as "quick" or musical as others. Smaller subwoofers are generally easier to integrate due to the smaller frequency range, than a larger subwoofer. Decay times come into play also, then it gets complicated. |
