Default Sub for tube amp and LS50 set up

Hi all. I'm looking for a sub for $1,000 more or less for my 17x10 room. The room has a closet that cut in to the corner. My amp is a VTA ST70 and the speakers are LS50's.
I like running the amp on triode because of the sweet mids and highs but that takes even more away from the low end. Any ideas?

I was looking into REL. I was wondering if a T5 over a T7 would have a tighter more accurate sound because the 7 has a 10" passive on the front (something I heard). I contacted the company for a recommendation. I will update when they respond. Thanks -E-

Given the size of your room, the more air you can move (larger woofer), the better.

E, wouldn't it be better to go smaller but use two subs ?

This would benefit the stereo image, no ?

Antipope, I thought about two tzero's but they are listed for near field according to REL. I may do two t5's or at least start with one and add one later. I'm curious as to what the will say.

What does near field mean for REL ? I'm maybe 10 feet away from my speakers.

I've been thinking of adding two subs to my system lately but it is a whole new field for me.

If I remember correctly, their site said for computer desk set ups with micro speakers for the tzero subs.

If you can swing it monetarily, 2 subs in stereo would be the way to go for a 2 channel setup. I have stereo RELs in mine and it's amazing what they do for the sound. I would opt for 2 smaller subs run stereo rather than one bigger one all things equal.

I'd rather the bigger sub now, then add another bigger one later. That way you aren't looking to ditch two smaller subs later on when you realize you need more boom.
