In my case using Stillpoint Ultra SS on my Focal 1028be speakers on ultra thick carpet with rubber padding underneath, the spikes improved the stability and sound.
Although I had the spikes, they were not long or sharp enough to penetrate the carpet backing and the pad beneath. What they did do was prevent the speakers from rocking on the carpet. The downside was moving the speakers became a huge hassle.

Since then, I've purchased Sopra n2 Speakers and haven't figured a way to adapt the UltraSS to the glass base of the Sopra's.

I installed my Ultra SS under the Martin Logan CLX last weekend. Took me awhile! Its actually REALLY difficult to make sure each footer is even . So much easier to snuggly tighten...but I did it. But I was so careful it took me about an hour! I kept going to each footer to check to see if each were the same. SO HARD.

I'm sure some here can relate but this is kind of hard to compare the sound differences when it takes this long.

Its sounds marvelous tho! Since I know the ins/outs now I may take em off and try again faster so I can do a better job of A-Bing.

I just received the Ultra 5's for my Amati Futura's.
Unfortunately, the adapters Stillpoints makes for them dont work.
Many thanks to Ivan who made several calls to John and Paul from Stillpoints to figure a solution out.

The ideas floated were:
-remove the Amati lower base plate and rubber dividers altogether and attach the U5's to upper plate with adapters.
-place U5's tapered side down and let the speaker spikes sit in the larger hole.
-place U5's tapered side down without the spikes and rest the OEM thread from the rubber dividers sit in the hole.

I installed the U5's using option 3 but wont be able to do any real listening for a few days.

Initial impression was positive with immediate clarity in mid range detail.

A good way to a/b Stillpoints is put them on only 1 speaker, then listen to a mono signal.
The difference is quite apparent.

Breadcrumbs for searches.... Stillpoint Ultra SS under Mcintosh XR100 speakers luckily use 1/4-20 set screws you can get anywhere.

I picked up some at Home Depot— have height differences due to one leg landing on a rug and uneven old floors. They came with 1/2 inch to attach the hard hat. I wanted the screws well threaded into the outriggers since the module can’t make contact with the speaker base (experimented with 3/4, 1, 1 1/4). Decided on beveled up using 1”, with hard hats on base facing floor using 1/2”.

As others state, different sound... cleaner. I could obviously feel vibration difference between speakers as I equipped one, then the other. The mono trick was interesting.

Can you take some photos and post? I have Futura's and am interested in how they mount and look.

thanks,
