Default 803D vs 804D3 Thoughts?

I have an opportunity to get either of these speakers. The 803D obviously would save me prob 3k since they are older and used. But I wondered if one is decidedly better or just different. I listened to the 804d3 and loved it.

I have previously owned the 803D1 and recently listened to the 804D3, I would be going with the 804D3's.

They are new and improved. For me, I thought the Midrange was greatly improved and the Bass seemed better too.

Would you think that the 803d2 would be quite a jump from the 804d3?

I can save about 2k going with the 803d2. Might be worthwhile.

I would go with the 804 D3, if you can afford it.

No, I believe the 804D3 is better than the 803D2. The 804 goes lower and uses newer drivers.

As always, best bet is to go listen to them both and make a decision.

If you have any plans to do multich then it would be difficult getting the matching center for the 803d2.

The 803d2 look great, always liked those speakers, but I think the 804d3 would outperform them.

Yeah. I agree. We are going to go with the 804D3. My wife really loved those and is pretty nervous about just buying a used pair of 803d2's and not hearing that magic.
