A popular motto is : "Tube amplifiers are McIntosh's Domain. Preamplifiers are ARC's one. "
I'd have to disagree with that. ARC has made a lot of great tube amplifiers and the current REF series is as good as anything I've ever heard. And I say that as a happy MC275 owner!

I am sure in another year, they will be a bit more that get listed on Agon for a little bit less.
Thanks Cyril !

When i bought my LS26 I also ordered a spare set of tubes and a second remote. Figured there was no down side to the extra set of tubes. Wanted the spare remote just in case, some of the preamp functions are only available via the remote. I'd have lost my mind if the remote died and I had to wait for a new one. Or, maybe I'm just anal!

No, I've upgraded to the Burmester 911 mk. 3 (and hopefully a 2nd one next year!) Probably going to get a pair of REF210's for tube amps...

I was going to ask you how it would compare to a Ref 110. I am thinking of getting one for the summer months and as a back up amp. But I don't want to lose the natural timbres, three dimensionality, and bloom that the Ref 110s deliver. Just wandering what your thoughts were as I know the CJ Premier 350 was a long-time reference for you (before the Burmester showed up on the scene ). Thx

I think you would be very pleased. And I think you might be surprised how well the Burmester does at "sounding like a tube amp" without the tube hassle. I've always loved tubes, but replacing all those power tubes has been a hassle, especially in my current position, where my system is on a minimum of 12 hours a day. Actually, I've never shut the Burmester stuff off in over a year!

I'd strictly be getting the 210's for fun and those extra special listening sessions where I'd put minimal tube useage on them.

Got a 2nd 911 on the way from RMAF, so who knows, I may just keep it?

The Premier 350 is still one of my all time favorite Solid-State amps though.
