Dan,

The LINN Axis is sounding ever so sweet!!!

It is an older deck, but has been completely gone over by So Cal's most respected LINN tech. It also has a brand new LINN Adikt pick up... which I must say, is so much better than it's $400 dollar price tags suggests.

A great value in a used TT for sure.

The whole set up sounds just fantastic... the only problem is no remote... when sitting at my desk, jamming to the glorious tube sound, and the phone rings... it's along way across the room to turn it down a bit.

I have been thinking of a modern EL34 based tube integrated that would give me a remote.. but for know I am just going to enjoy the "VINTAGE BLISS"

Stephen.......It sounds like you went in the right direction with the Linn turntable. It seems to be a perfect match for the system.

The remote control is another thing all together. We are so spoiled. I have my system under control. I can now sit here in the office and control my McIntosh system in the living room, using my iPod Touch with the RedEye Remote software installed, and the RedEye base in the living room. It is so cool to be able to turn the volume up and down from in here, or change tracks on the MCD500, or switch the digital input on the MCD500 to the server, and then use the computer network interface to play music from the server, all without moving from my comfy chair. I'm loving it. I also can control the volume on the Sony Widescreen in the living room, so if Marlene is watching HSN or QVC (a huge waste of time IMO), and the constant female sales dribble begins to wear on me, I can just use the iPod Touch to lower the TV's volume from right here in the office. It doesn't get any better than that.

Stephen.......Oops! After closer inspection, and squinting to be able to barely see the numbers on the side of the amp, I can see it says MC240 on the amplifier. I got excited for a minute, I guess. It doesn't take much to get me going.

'cisco.......I have to hand it to you for saving that picture of Stephen's Barzilay cabinet with the McIntosh gear installed. I had forgotten about that picture. I like that look the best.
