Anthem M1 mono amps
As some of you know, I purchased a pair of these amps a while back. I am still very impressed with sound these amps make and the way they take hold of my Salon 2's. Anyone with inefficient speakers should give these a serious audition!!
My good friend Mike sent me this youtube link. It's pretty good. I thought some of you would enjoy it, Mark [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vn7yLVUMwE0&sns=em]Anthem shows us the M1 Statement, a 1000 watt digital mono amplifier - YouTube[/ame] |

Thanks Mark,
The Anthem amps seem really nice. Do they sound neutral/accurate? I'm curious. |

Thank you for sharing!
Small, extremely powerful, and relatively cheap. Seems like a superdeal in hi-fi land. Has anyone compared this with the other big boys?

And Mark's original review here: http://www.audioaficionado.org/mcint...ent-m1s-2.html These amps have a ridiculous spec to price ratio. 1/10th the cost of the similar design and sounding ML53's and TWICE the power of the 53's. |

Good to see you posting here on AA. Do you know when we might see the reviews? December issues?

Thanks for pointing me back to Mark's review. I remember it now. Wow! Mark seems happy with the M1's. Any updates Mark? Anything you notice now that did not jump out at you before? Congrats again! |

Joe, The Anthem's sound is very neutral, and very organic, for a SS amp.
God knows I don't have the experience with amps that you do, but these amps provide a very transparent window to the recordings and the source components. An example of what I'm talking about is when I inserted my new Manley Chinook phono pre into my system. It was immediately apparent that the Manley had a entirely different sound than the PS Audio GCPH. It was the first piece of tube gear I've ever had in my system. The M1's allowed the tube magic to be heard, and conveyed emotion coming from my vinyl, that I've never heard before. If there is another set of amps that sound this good, have this much power, and priced this low, I'd like to know about them. |

Kal, I've been waiting for those reviews for what seems like forever. I hope you enjoyed the Anthem's with your 800 diamonds. I bet it was a good match |
