I've never heard that, but at this price, I won't lose much in the gamble.

I've not heard nor experienced that with my own NAD purchases either. In fact just the opposite.

Enjoy the NAD, lucky dog winning those NOLA's.

Agree. Mine keeps pumping out great sound way above its price point. Enjoy!

Perhaps the speaker relay problems gave NAD a bad reputation with some people. The NAD amps I have that are about ten years old needed speaker relay replacement about every year or two. I ran bi-amped with an integrated and matching power amp, so it started getting expensive. If the 'A' set of terminals would stop working then I would switch to the 'B' set (if they would work). Sometimes I could get the failing relays to contact if I turned the volume way up before turning the amps on; but that wasn't exactly safe for the speakers.

I had an NAD 2200. When my relay gave up the ghost, I jumpered it out of the system. Amp itself gave many more years of service (I had it for over 10 years in heavy use) & is still being enjoyed by the next owner.

Not exactly a good engineering approach, but it kept the amp working, and I've heard from a fair number of others who did the exact same thing.

I have found that NAD and Monitor Audio speakers give Wilson a good run for the money.

few years back I had a some Monitor Audio Gold tower speakers set up perfectly (spiked, toed in just right, perfect distance from back wall and side walls, etc) with a sub dialed in perfectly with the just right amount of decay(if there is such a thing); you could hear the kick drum and associated drum hard aware as if it was in the room; the NAD piece I borrowed from a dealer had a MC 275 tube feel to it that has been hard to replicate.

This system had some of the best PRAT I have experienced. Very intoxicating.

Sometimes moving up in dollars for more expensive equipment requires a lot more dollars to get that sound you happen to have created with lower priced equipment.
