Default Acoustic Imagery Atsah Ncore monoblocks ...

Has anyone heard these amps?

ATSAH NC monobloc power amplifier
The power amplifier is a Class D design and is based on the latest NCORE®
technology from Hypex.
NCORE® is the name given to the first significant step up in power amplifier
performance in a decade.
Building on the strong heritage of the UcD design of Class D amplifiers,
NCORE® takes the things UcD does well and does them 10 times better.
Coupled with a dedicated switch mode power supply made specifically to work
with the Class D design, this amplifier not only nudges at the performance
of the best linear amplifiers, but surpasses them in every aspect of sound
quality.
Efficiency is over 90% and under normal operating conditions they radiate
little heat, thus negating the need for large external heatsinks.
The input to the amplifier is a fully balanced differential input and the
connector is a Neutrik® XLR input socket.
Speaker connections are via WBT nextgen™ Pole Terminal 0703 binding
posts and there are 2 pairs to facilitate bi-wiring.

Joe
Never heard of them. I don't have much interest in these half sized products.

Hi Jim,

The new Ncore Class D amps are supposed to be pretty awesome. Not like the older classic class D amps.

This is what I've heard, these Ncore devices are the Class D amps to beat these days... and they are a big hit with the DIY crowd.

I have a hard time getting my mind wrapped around any power amp that's not "heavy metal", time will tell.. I guess.

Never heard Ncore but they have a decent following; many who claim that they will never go back to a traditional power amp. I wouldn't mind playing around with one.

In my recent research, Tweek Geek will let you trial their gear. I know guys who have come from pure Class A amps and straight to these Ncore amps and never looked back.

I've heard similar a similar story. A friend of a friend sold his Pass Labs AND tube amps for the one Ncore set and tells everyone they are chasing their tails and wasting money on everything else. Just so hard to believe. Plus, there's not a lot that goes into these class D amps and to pay $10k for $400+ modules plus packaging is hard to justify (yeah I know these are not the NC400s but you get my point).

Understood, but my curiosity is definitely piqued. I'd seriously consider a 10-30 day trial just to hear them.

I was being serious about the story...not snippy. Haha in case you took it as sarcasm.

I would like to hear them as well. It's justifying the price that will be harder to do. I suppose if it sounds better than anything we've owned before, who cares if it runs off a modified Bose that's marked up 5,000%. I'm itching to have someone I know and trust try one...hmmm who here likes to try new stuff every month .
