My local dealer usually charges me (MSRP x current exchange rate + 10% for shipping) x whatever discount he can give me. Not too bad. However, their customer service is not the greatest.

It's nice to know we have an awesome dealer down in the States. If I'm buying something brand new in the future, I will be sure to drop Ivan a pm.
I just wanted to add, that in addition to the fees mentioned above, there are also the brokerage fees. When I shipped my MCD201 to a person who bought it the states, the administrative steps and additional costs just to confirm the the CD player met US specs was rather annoying.

Buying south of the Border does have its advantages, but, sometimes it does create a fair amount of difficulties. Often any 'deal' you can get is wiped out by the additional costs.

I was speaking to a dealer in Canada about some rather excellent prices on PMC and Sonus Faber probucts, and he warned me that any European products have an additional 10% Importation tax in addition to Provincial sales tax and our Federal tax.... so, to import into Ontario, would cost me an additional 23% before shipping or brokerage fees..etc. so you have to really know what you're after...

Ivan is the best period, end of story!
I am just getting my feet wet in high end audio and feel so lucky to have talked to and purchased from Ivan. I too couldn't believe that he just gave me his number and said to call... outstanding service and help, which will keep me coming back for more gear!

Really should try to sit in one-NICE Retail price is steep though.
Mac Motion recliners have memory foam as well on the upper end models at a fraction of the cost.

Ekornes to the Line list.....

The GST, PST, HST etc. you guys have up there are an alphabet soup of confusion! We've got a bunch down here too, like sales taxes where the state charges a percent (something like 5% usually, in the states that charge it), and counties can then add their add-on to that (sorry for the two "adds" in the sentence, but even writing about it has me speaking bureaucratese!).

I did some research and it is called the "Eames Lounge Chair" and have been designed by the Eames brothers and made since 1956 by Herman Miller furniture company. Their chairs are a part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in NY.

There are some video clips on youtube for those interested in history. Do a search for Eames Lounge Chair.

Good news is that they are still made and although pricey, look great, are comfy and have some history behind them.

This has always been my most coveted listening chair...

I like the vintage ones... but, they sell for more than the new ones...
