Default In house table setup in Colorado Springs?

Once you’re done, I’d love to come out and give it a listen! I’ll bring the bourbon.

Impressive recommendations from clients indeed. I like the idea of using an objective approach (actual measurements) and subjective (listening). And it looks that he has been all over the world doing this. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, this is intense. I had no idea there were people out there that offered that kind of in depth service. Maybe one day I'd spring for this but currently I don't have the ideal room or speakers.

I contacted the Colorado Audiophile Society and they offered to come out. Apparently, they are a group of Audiophiles who are responsible for setting up the most recent Rocky Mountain Audio Festival. Seems like a good group.

I also spoke to a guy in Denver who knew VPI in and out. He somewhat blew me off.
I offered him $50 each way for gas, and $100 / hr with a two hour minimum. Basically told me it wasn't worth his time. I am an advanced practice nurse in the OR and I don't even make that! Maybe Im lowballing him and don't realize it but I thought it was more than reasonable.

All I know is Im sitting here with his glorious beast, like a Playboy in cellophane, and its killing me....

Just as a point of reference I think your offer to the guy in Denver was quite reasonable.

And maybe you know of another friend who might need help optimizing his system and be willing to share some of the costs.
Is Jim Smith still an option for those willing to fly him out? Nothing on his site about in-home consulting/setup.

Yes. He calls it RoomPlay. I know that he has helped others from a different website so I suggest that you contact him directly. He has also provided remote assistance to some folks.
His website is www.getbettersound.com

Congrats on asking for help. Most people don’t, and their setups are not optimized as a result.

Sounds like the Colorado Audiophile Society is a good bet. Ask them if they have a Fozgometer or similar device for setting azimuth and the associated test records.

If they can’t help you I live in Salida and have a lot of experience with TT setup.

Tom

My understanding is that Jim Smith is great but Stirling Trayle can bring things to an even higher level. If I was going to fly someone out, I would go with the best of the best.
