Jerry,
Definitely a bucket list item. Mind-boggling power and precision.

Terry.......I read today where the No. 5 jet took a bird in the engine in Vero Beach, Florida that took the jet out of service. It was reported one of the Blue Angels planes made an early landing during Saturday's performance when a bird flew into its engine, said Catherine Caddell, the Air Show's director of marketing. The incident caused $1 million in engine damage to Blue Angels No. 5, Caddell said.

It’s just crazy what damage birds can do, and it's not uncommon.

Dan,
I read that earlier. Ouch. We were close enough to watch the ground crews work on the planes at the last show and they can do some very serious work in a very short amount of time. They swapped out the engine on BA7 in just a couple of hours. Incredibly efficient operation. Watching the ground crew keep those aircraft in perfect working order is worth the trip. They are very capable and talented individuals.

Terry.......That is good to know. I would expect nothing less from the United States Navy.

Terry,

What a great way to use the RV!

We get to see the Blue Angels here every 3 years. They alternate with the Canadian Snowbird precision flying team and the USAF Thunderbirds. I get to watch the high altitude portion of the show from my back patio.

Tell the Mrs. those are fantastic pics. That night shot is stunning!
