First going to address treatment over TV, then the ceiling over where the last set of speakers hang from previous HT system, removing all other speakers had a profound affect. I may try the Center Stage mechanical isolation footers somewhere.

Maybe a Brinkmann analog setup - this is a weak maybe at this point as I want to get a few things squared up at the house, so we will see.

Like to have a few area get togethers with the Northwest group and possibly do Munich, RMAF, or the New York Audio Show.

Room acoustics is my focus - while I’m not planning anything else it’s tough to say this early on in the year given what I’ve learnt about this crazy hobby!

The Vimbergs really did sound stunning.

I would like a new power conditioner. Perhaps a Denali 6000 or AQ Niagara 5000 or equivalent.

Decided 90% on getting the Ruark r7 mk3. My R4 has done sterling service for four years, but I need a bit more oomph without scaring the neighbours. I tested it on the weakly generated Radio 3 and it came up trumps with classical. As I still enjoy cycling to work, and have no wish to move to the boondocks to get the walls that can withstand a full hi fi with speakers blast, it will do nicely. An all in one unit with internet radio and an amp for a future record deck (you never know), it will improve the sound by at least 30% with a lot more sound body and Ruark's impeccable imaging. There is nothing worse than quiet speakers which would be the reality with a hj fi system. At days end I'm happy with my headphone dap and portable amp set up. If Naim hadn't insisted on Tablets, they would have got my business. It might do Tidal washing powder but I have no need. I have some offers for my R4 as well. Seems the way to go, I don't need an electric bike.

That’s a very cool piece of kit.

It beat's apparently, the Diavelet Gold duo, (bombastic and in your face treble according to one reviewer), and though shaded by the Naim muso with added speaker lets, it's no big cross to bear. I would have considered the Naim's but there's no CD or the other goodies and no remote or fascia controls. I think I'll be happy, if I wish to stay in dear old London, and I do.
