Default The Ghost In The MP3

I found this really interesting. It’s a song made with only the sounds that were left out when compressing Suzanne Vega’s “Tom’s Diner” to mp3.

Stop and listen to this for a few minutes and we find out why MP3 sounds so "tin can" like when compared to another lossless format such as FLAC or AIFF.

very interesting, thanks for sharing. strange to think all of that gets ripped out of the original song.

Impressive ! I wouldn't have guessed that the compression would remove so much of her voice which represent the main part of this song.
It would be interesting to see the result with other genre of songs (jazz, rock, classical,..)

Even on my small computer speakers, I can hear that a lot of details in the sound are thrown overboard here...
