Jim.......I imagine your dealer also privately feels Maxx 3's in your room will work better for his bank, too.

By the looks of your current setup my guess is the MAXX3s would fit.

Actually, the MBL's seem to work better on the long wall. The Maxx 3's would have to go on the short wall allowing me to move back several feet.

Jim........You are probably right. The high-end dealers I have known in the past, and know now are really only in it for the personal satisfaction that comes from opening their shop each morning, and seeing their client's smiling face upon system delivery. I don't know what I was thinking.

Jim.......Back to the topic, you have stated on more than one occasion that the omni-directional qualities of the MBL's are an acquired taste that you have come to appreciate. Do you think that you would be satisfied with directional speakers, even ones such as the Maxx 3?

I bet my dealer friend would push you towards the Sashas...

I think what he and I noticed in a not so big room was that the MAXX3's bass can't get nearly as deep and big as it can in a bigger space. It's not that they won't work. Like I said, I have never heard Miles Davis' trumpet as I have from the MAXX3s. Simply awesome. Had me dumbfounded with a big grin on my face.

My problem in our game room has been not being able to find anything big enough to fill the space. First, ProAc 3.8s, then the big Revel Salon Ultima 2s, then the Revels with a Rel B-1. That got me close, especially when the MX-Rs were replaced by the ballsy DS450.

I had a friend in college that had omni-directional floor-standers with downward firing woofers. Jazz sounded awesome on his system. Can't remember the brand...This must have been 1988.
