Slow Listening
Perhaps this has been posted, but a good column from Stereophile in December 2019, 'As We See It'. Provides neuroscience-based background of the benefits (and necessity) of extended critical listening and why ABX testing has limitations.

Thanks for posting - a great read.
People who tout ABX comparisons as a valid way to evaluate hi-fi gear are, to put simply, ignorant. They likely have not actually participated or conducted such a test, don’t understand its severe limitations, and are just repeating a popular screed.
