Anyone use Audyssey in their hometheater?

I have an integra also, the 40.2. My experience has been that Audyssey and Dynamic EQ set to "on" it boosts the mid-bass too much in the setup for music and you loose some mid-range detail. I have gone to the point of just having all my 2-ch settings set to "direct" and movies and TV setup to "straight decode" so that audyssey is engaged and movies sound full and dynamic. I find that when it calibrates the sub to 75 dbs it fills in nicely and doesn't bloat the overall sound with excessive bass. I dont use any DSP modes, if the movie is 2.0, 5.1 or whatever I let it play the way it was intended.

Won't be long before I find out what it will do.

Incoming Integra DHC-80.3 that has,

Audyssey MultiEQ XT32 to correct for room acoustics.
Audyssey MultiEQ Pro Ready with target EQ curve ready.

Looking forward to hearing it do it's thing.

Well in my case it is all being installed by my Local A/V Dealer.

But I will be right there as I do wish to see how it is done.

This will be the very 1st time for this to take place with my HT system.
I know I have been doing a lot of research on it and what I have read says it is a Major benefit.

All the more reason to read the setup guide first. I have heard several reports of incompetent dealer Audyssey setups. While I doubt that it is common, it can happen and it would be good for you to be somewhat informed before they come.

On my Onkyo 809, I had to turn off Audyssey. It didn't cut the bass but it did wide boost at 1khz by a ridiculous level. It had just the Multieq-XT so I was able to undo the boost.

Yes via my Integra pre-pro. Like what it does except it sets center channel way too low so I have to over ride that.

Such results are often associated with unfortunate mic placement with respect to driver radiation patterns.

My opinion on running XT32.

I make that comment and have that opinion after reading about it for over a month day after day on all sorts
of different sites as well as articles in multiple magazines.

It is a Major improvement over not running it especially in a HT (Home Theater) 7.1 (4-Subs) system.

I'm going to run it ..........
