I have seen info on the Ragnarok and a matching Yggdrasil DAC as well. I'm very interested in buying them eventually. I was about to buy a Valhalla II though.

Woo Audio gets great reviews and they have a broad selection to choose from.

I've got a pair of Mr Speakers Mad Dogs headphones. Also a planar driver, 50 ohms. I power them with a mint, recapped Sansui G-7000 receiver good for 85 watts @ 8 ohms, which if I remember correctly gives me about 3.5 watts per channel at 50 ohms. It has ample current to power these cans with plenty of reserve.

It's a great little combo that I'm quite happy with. I've tried several dedicated head amps and none compared to this old workhorse Sansui.
