Who is running Runco Projectors "Now" or in the "Past" ?

I did a search 1st and did not see this asked on a Thread.

Who is running a Runco projector and if so which one?

Who has ran Runco projectors and then up graded them to newer models?

Based on the above questions, your comments on the Runco/Runcos you have owned.

Yes, I am ate up over Runco so that is why I am asking for other members here what they have and what they think regarding the product.

I currently have a RS-900 projector. Almost 4 years now. It's the only Runco I have owned.

It is quite excellent in performance. Not an inexpensive projector. But it has worked well for me.

I don't think are many Members here that are running the Runco Projectors.

There is one other Member that has the Runco VX-11d on here.

In fact when I saw his Thread on here that is why I decided to join up.

Here is a Thread on me signing up for my "Next" Runco projector.
I have the Runco VX5000ci right now.
Soon will be up-graded to the Runco VX-11d.

Count me as a Runco fan...I had my VX-11d installed last fall and love it...it replaced a VX-1000d with Vivx2 processing...I had just upgraded all of the audio in the HT room and wanted to move to BR for movies...720P was not going to cut it. Runco took it back on their trade-in program I also took the opportunity to replace my 10 year old Runco PL61cx...a 61" plasma which at the time of purchase was the largest plasma made(retail was over $36k)... still a great picture in 720P(and only one pixel gone in ten years of use) but only analog HD inputs so technology had passed it by...I gave it to a friend for his man cave. The new Runco Plasma(what the kids use during the day for their cartoons and disney channel programming...and Stewart screen drops in front of it for movies) is the 63" Vistage...I paid a little more to get the same external processor used on the VX-11d. Lastly I have a Runco MC-50 over the mantle in the family room...starting to show age...with DVI input only...but no upgrade plans soon.

I will say the step from single lamp 720P to 3 lamp 1080p is...well...WOW!!

Glad to be here and enjoyed reading about your Runco up-grades.

Actually I thought there would be more Members running the Runco Projectors on AA.

But I am now thinking they are CRT Users.

I'm thinking I might very well be the little fellow on AA as far as HT gear goes.

I believe the real heavy hitters are on AA.

So I imagine that is why there are not more Post on the Runco units as they are small potatoes to these guys.

I honestly might be out of place on AA as far as HT gear and discussions go regarding the gear I have.

I'll hang around though as it is still interesting to See & Read what some of these guys have for Audio & Video gear.

The 11d is a great projector and likely better than the median projector owned by AA members( a guess). I would be surprised if many here have new CRTs...Runco carries a premium that many don't want to pay...I happen to like what they do with respect to video processing.

From my limited time here...everyone here has a love for quality(sound or video)...but being realistic...you can get both for a lot less than some of us spend, myself included. The road to nirvana has many paths...some just cost more

I for one will be rebalancing my hardware to software investment this year...just bought $500 of new vinyl on my Fire from Amazon....one-click makes it too easy.

I will still enjoy hearing about some of the gear other AAers are trying out. A lot of knowledge here...and a wide range of audio investment...your system holds up just fine

As you say there are all different price ranges for audio and video gear.
I think in most cases it just comes down to one's ability financially to have the highest end gear, with money having no bearing on those decisions.
Then you have the guys that like the end result in a more reasonably priced HT.

Audio sounds great as well as the video for guys like me with a more moderate priced HT.
(Not Modest to me)
Back 8-yrs. ago when I was gathering facts on what was going in my HT.
I did listen to some very high end Audio gear.
Honestly I never did really hear any noticeable difference.
The Rep. would say, hear that, hear the difference, and finally I said to him.
You know what Buddy, you and I both know there is not all that much difference for (Triple) the price.
I'll stick with the gear I have now chosen.

Video, I did see a difference and that is why I went with the Runco.

Heck, for those here that have basically un-limited dollars and want the the Best I say have at it.
Even if in reality there is very little noticeable difference in the sound or video.

You don't get to go around but once.
So why not have the Best of the Best .........
