The Vivids are breaking in nicely (some 40 hours on the counter).
The soundstage is becoming even bigger.
We're also hearing details on well known CD's we'd never noticed before.
I understand now better why most of you with a really good stereo system are not longing for a surround... The sound is everywhere in the room.
And the sweet spot is quite big. At least the whole sofa (3-seater). But that doesn't mean my wife and I don't stay closely together enjoying the music...
I'll post some more pics tomorrow.

I can only imagine how they will sound with a pair of 911 Mk3's and a decent pre (088, 077, 808 Mk5...?).
Longterm dreams because I'm really enjoying now.
Because of their quite high sensitivity, the Burmester 082 drives them already to painful and thundering volumes.

Bart,
Congratulations on your new speakers !!

Successes in Africa deserve our praise !
I'm going to South Africa in April 2012 with my wife, my kid and some friends. We'll stay in Cape Town for 4 days.
But I doubt that my wife will let me listen to those wonders !
You have a great wife too ! Lucky Man !

The Vivid factory is in Kloof, near Durban. Maybe worth making a detour...?

The new Vivids are a revelation … in both senses of the word: some of our CD’s never sounded better, others fade into nothingness.

Major housekeeping in the CD cabinet coming up ...
