Why? Drug testing at work?
That's why I like being self-employed.

That's a lot of bucks to learn if the above is true to oneself or not IMO.

These $2K per pair are considered equal to or better than the WE's and much better than the Shuguang Treasure Black Bottles.

Do those Takatsuki tubes come into the US or have reps here? For modern production 300b's, I'm using the Emission Labs. They are great. Very high quality. I've got some new Psvanes, but haven't used them. The Emissions are so nice I probably never will.

I use their 2A3 as well, and feel the same. No desire to try anything else. I just got a direct coupled 45 amp, along with a stash of NOS tubes, including some matched globes. But, I am tempted to get some EMLs for it as well...

Thanks for all the comments - I am quite happy with the system I have right now - it really sounds good which is the important thing, and I enjoy picking up used records of the classic stuff I loved in my youth to revisit. Some of it still sounds great, others not so good. Just been going through some of the Beatles re-issues, only Abbey Road is going back and picked up a UK version of it instead. I have been told, from a well placed source that an EMT JSD5 cartridge would be a nice addition to the family, so looking around for items to sell to raise funds...

Saturday turned into a day to clean the 25 odd records I have picked up over the past month. Not quite as much fun.

I heard someone around these parts has a new set of GM-70s he is giving a spin on, would love to hear his updates (hint, hint).

Barr

p.s. David, looks like you and I have slightly different Lafon 300B's, yours appears to have the extra "magic" tube enclosed in red!

Where would I go to buy a pair of the Takatsuki Electric TA-300B's?

Thanks!

There is an outfit in California that does the importing. I believe their site is here:
