Serge.......The Tannoy Cantenbury SE's in this photo are not much more than six feet apart on center. These speakers will work in your room. Your low frequencies will be deeper and richer, and the cabinet size will blend well with your new rack from Box. Your are treating the room, so taylor it for the Cantenbury SE. They are gorgeous, and I feel positive the will thrill you beyond your Kensington SE's. Go for it.

Dan, bass should not be a problem. These beauties have tunable ports that can be opened or closed depending on proximity and size of room. I can also deploy some serious tube bass traps behind them if need be.

It's the sidewalls I am concerned about. All speakers like to breathe, especially large ones. The Cantenbury's would have to be very close to the sidewalls, like a foot at most as they are just about 2x the width of my current speakers.

Doable? Maybe... I may sacrifice some soundstage and their tonal balance may change due to coupling with the sidewalls but who really knows...

I asked my dealer to put a call out to Tannoy rep to see what he says. I should hear something tomorrow.
