Unacceptable!
+1....on a similar chord, any problem, say, with a dirty switch or faulty connection resulting in a loss of output, however slight, in either (any) channel, is unacceptable.

Pete.......Not to mention a faulty CD player drawer. You become obsessed with the repair. A man on a mission.

That's right, Dan....can't have that! I was going nuts for three days awaiting the arrival of the disc clamp motor belt.

The machine is still working perfectly, BTW.....

One pet peeve of mine is finger oil residue on the face plate, controls and elsewhere, especially on black equipment

Me too! I use my sleeves to press the buttons or turn knobs. I wrap my remotes with plastic wrap. Keeps the dust and oil off.

I also hate bends, folds, or marks on owner's manuals. I don't use the ones that came with my gear. I download a PDF and read it on my iPad.

Gee Mike....I do everything you just listed except for one additional item....I give my glass and chrome a wax job at least once a year.

You need to include solutions with examples in your book on room set-up, etc.
