Sennheiser HDVA 600 arrived today
 The Sennheiser HDVA 600 balanced headphone amplifier and the Sennheiser CH 800 S balanced headphone cable arrived today. Sound Earphones (Audio Aficionado sponsor) put together a nice package deal on the amp and cable including overnight delivery. Thank you, Michael. The Sennheiser HDVA 600 amplifier is meticulously crafted, solid and quite hefty at nearly 5 lbs. Something to take note of if you are ordering the HDVA 600, it does not come with a power cord. It has a standard 15 amp IEC connector, so you will need to purchase your own power cable. Fortunately for me I have two spare Wireworld Aurora power cables that I purchased from Howard (hkval) so I am good to go with the HDVA 600 and the W4S DAC2. I am also using balanced interconnects between the DAC2 and the HDVA 600, and of course the new Sennheiser CH 800 S balanced headphone cable. The HDVA 600 headphone amp sits perfectly on top of the DAC2 and fits right into the space on my office desk where I had previously used the Musical Fidelity X-Can V8P tube headphone amp. This makes a great looking headphone setup. I have been listening to the HDVA with the CH 800 S cable for the past two hours and it sounds spectacular right out of the box. I am positive that a few hundred hours of break-in will add to the magnificent presentation. With only a few hours on the headphone rig I am mighty impressed with the resolution, air, dynamics, sound stage and bass authority. The Sennheiser HD800 headphone was developed in Sennheiser's lab with this amplifier. As a matter of fact, Sennheiser developed the HDVA 600 as a laboratory test instrument to aid in the development of the HD800 headphone and then brought it to market as its perfect mate. The HD800, HDVA 600 and the CH 800 S are all manufactured at Sennheiser's headquarters in Wedemark, Germany. In my opinion, the HDVA 600 or the HDVD 800 DAC version are THE amplifiers to use with the HD800 headphone. Once I have the break-in period behind me I will follow up with additional comments on this amazing headphone outfit. Right now you can color me a happy camper.
