Has ARC had any bombs in recent years
I know ARC has been on a roll the last 5 years and I think they are doing a great job. Has any of their recent gear (Say in the last 15 years) bombed out with the consumer. If so what piece and why do you think it bombed?

Their class T based solid state power amplifiers were not well received and weren't in the lineup for long. The only one that remains is the 150M and a friend in the know says that's only because ARC still has quite a few in stock. I don't believe they have sold many MP1 multi-channel analogue line stages either. It's still available likely for the same reason.

Not really ARC's fault, but I've been told interest in the DAC 8 fell precipitously after the bad review from Alan Taffel in the September 2012 TAS.

I'll let you know what I think of his review once my DAC8 arrives in a few days!

I'm assuming the solid state line stages that ARC has produced, (given the fact that ARC is primarily known for its tube gear) haven't exactly been hot sellers, but I wouldn't call them, "bombs."

Having said that, I don't think ARC is capable of producing a "bomb" or "stinker" . |

I heard that the ARC Ref. 150 was a complete let down.
