Yesterday I picked up my new macbook pro 2.8 ghz, 500 gig hd, 4 gig. ram and did a sync with my old notebook which is going to the office. I am starting to fill up my HD with cd's I could not fit before. I also picked up a 120 gig ipod for $20 after the rebate which the apple store clerk took care of before I left the store. My music is all lossless; this one will replace the 30 gig ipod which I leave in my car. The sales person tried really hard to talk me out of the macbook pro, he said it was overkill for what I wanted it for and recommended the base 15 inch model which I could special order with a 500 gig hd. Since I tend to keep my notebooks around for awhile I tend to buy the best one out at the time. Anyway so far I love the battery on this thing, 7 hours without a charge .. not bad.

My next toy is a pair of door skins for my TR3. I've just finished rebuilding the frames and cutting new wood. I'm not the best welder in the world so it took me several attempts to get it just right. Thanks for grinders! The skins and the lip rolling air tool should give me a next to original pair of doors which will allow me to jig the front and back half of the car.

iPhone 3 GS for me next Friday! Jenny is getting my iPhone 3G, but as a consolation prize also getting a new iMac to replace her 4.5 year old Power PC G5 iMac.

David, I'm envious of your new MacBook Pro. Sounds very nice. I have a Rev. A MacBook Air, an older MacBook Pro 15", and my pride and joy Mac Pro with two 3.0 GHz processors, 14 Mb of RAM, three 1 terabyte and one 750 GB hard drives, and a Cinema HD 23" monitor.

I guess I like Macs.

My new company car has XM, and I have found that I enjoy some of the channels that play "out of circulation" music. I am considering the purchase of a sattelite receiver for my main system. I would thik that I could run it through the MDA-1000.

Any ideas?

While my suggestion is likely overkill, you might consider the MR88. It has digital out and can add XM capability for about $36 for hardware (XM module and antenna) plus subscription fees. I feed the digital output of my MR88 to my MCD500, and I think it sounds wonderful. The HD radio alternate channels (that often have no commercials) add another dimension and sound great!
