A number of years ago, I decided to design a custom wall unit for my system that would work in my living room without being overbearing. I took measurements of requirements for each compartment/shelf with 6" to 7" of room above each tube component and a number of inches below each component to accommodate isolation footers or stands. I had open backs on shelves on which the tube components would be situated for purposes of front and back ventilation. I found that I could hire a custom furniture builder who would build according to my specs and add ideas re overall look and design that would make it work as part of my living room. It would have cost about the same as an HRS or Silent Running Audio rack and have many of the audiophile attributes, but look like an actual piece of LR furniture.
I think that approach would work for you. Check out custom furniture builders near you.
Epilogue--
Before I could implement, a long time local dealer moved his shop and had to sell his 6' wide custom made rich cherry maple rack with with marble top that he had used to display his high end equipment. It looks more like a piece of living room furniture than an audio rack (as in the Mac room) and holds a pride of place in my living room. It holds 9 components . I can't help it if I'm lucky.

If you look at the property here:

Many of the furnishings were already there including the table you are referring to in the pic before WOM acquired it.....
