So, I stopped at Best Buy in Dubin, CA on Thursday to pick up a pair of Pioneer SP-BS22-LRs and of course, they were out stock. The sales guy of course tried to "upgrade" me to Polks or something else, and of course, I said no, I want those, pointing to the Pioneers. I don't think he could understand why i specifically only wanted the SP-BS22-LRs, but then again, he doesn't know who Andrew Jones is.

Curses! Foiled again!

Dan,

Thanks, my friend. Yes, I know Amazon has them, but I was looking forward that night to taking them into the bedroom, along with the C-J Premier 17LS, the EAR 834P, my Rega P-5, and my vintage but wonderful H-K Citation 12 amp, and seeing what magic might happen.

I will be going right by Best Buy today in Emeryville, so I will see if they happen to have them, but I'm not holding my breath.

My guess I will be foiled again! Curses!

Snagged a pair at Best Buy in Emeryville!

I'm listening to them with my main C-J system and Loki driving them, and I gotta say, these speakers are frickin' amazing!!! They might actually outperform my Era D4s...

Man, a $149 Loki DSD DAC and a pair of $129 pair of Pioneer speakers, two products that provide simply ridiculous performance for money!

2013 has been a great year when it comes to products that provide amazing value propositions!

Andrew Jones is a genius.....

Congrats! I am enjoying mine. If you can get a listen with the S-1EX or the S-3EX, you will be in for a surprise. The only thing is that only a couple of pairs hit the US market and it comes once in a while in the used market.

Stephen.......I told you.

The Pioneer SP-BS22-LR speakers deliver way above their price point.

Out in my shop where I am using my Pioneers speakers I added a Dayton Audio SUB-1000 active subwoofer (10 inch/100 watts) to the system and the deep bass fills in very well. The Dayton subwoofer was a whopping $95.00 from PartsExpress. This is another very good value.

. . . .

I picked up a pair of S-2EX and a S-7EX center on closeout for future home theater room. Not able to resist temptation I have pulled the S-2EX's out of their boxes and listened a few times and am very glad I picked them up when I had the chance.

These SP-BS22-LR's are an absolute "no brainer" for people wanting an extremely affordable pair of speakers for all kinds of uses.

Dan,

You were right!
It was your nice review of these that convinced me to pick up a pair. Gotta go with the advice of buddies you trust. I've also been listening to them all morning while I do errands around the house, and I continue to be extremely impressed with them. My neighbor came by and she was completely blown away by them, also. I think she is going talk to her husband about getting them for their home theatre. Thanks for the tip on the sub.

These will be perfect for the second, quasi-vintage system I am going to set up in the spare bedroom in 2014, which I am going to convert into a digital darkroom.
