Out of curiosity what size fan were you using? I just ordered a set of SR Alphas and was going to break them in the same way. I have a large floor standing fan out in the garage that I was going to use for the break in. I can set it on high and it go for 24 hours a day out there so I'm figuring 4 days.

I just used the regular 20 inch box fans. I had them in the basement so they could stay on 24 hours a day. I usually left them on low, but occasionally would put them on medium or high for a few hours as Caelin did with his.

I march to a different drummer, and burnt my cables in by using them. Everything is working so well now that I have not even thought of any possible changes for about four months now.

Congratulations on a great set of cables.

Good idea! I think I'll do that and run through 3 different speeds throughout the day.

THANKS!

It must take a way longer amount of time to break in the Sigma power cords if my ears hear things correctly. Even with 2 weeks of break in on a box fan, the Sigma HC's took 2 or 3 weeks of actual use to get to a state where I can say I am marveling at their sound.

I am reporting back after about 3 weeks of steady use for the last installed Shunyata Sigma HC 20 amp power cord. It was placed on my Triton v2. The Triton v2 has the following plugged into it: the preamp; the CD/SACD players; the turntable plus the SDS speed regulator, and the phono preamp.

I believe the sound has more clarity than it did 3 weeks ago. It also seems more substantial compared to the initial hookup. My previous Python Alpha 20 amp cord had a great sound itself.

As a severe further test, I played some discs with sound I didn't care for with my previous system setup. I found them more listenable this time round. And I had not changed anything else in the system but the power cords.

That is one reason why I just break my cords in by using them. In my mind, they adjust better and faster to their load while doing their job.

I'm really enjoying the Sigmas. Find them to be superior to the Pythons and Anacondas.
