My dealer told me it's better to plug the mc2301 monoblocks straight into dedicated power lines than putting them into the tritonv2... Any thoughts on that?

Your dealer is correct. The Triton v2 is great for the front end of a system, not as great for powerful amps. The venom amp1 works there or you can go naked as I do.

Ok, just pulled the trigger on a Tritonv2 with alpha HC powercord, and a Typhon.
What would be an appropriate umbilical pc in this configuration?
Many thanks for all the advice, it really helped me decide to go for it and found an electrician to install dedicated powerlines :-)

Grant may want to jump in here, but I'd go Alpha HC into Triton and the best umbilical you can afford between Triton and Hydra. The umbilical can and should be a shorter than standard length if the units will be placed near each other.

Hi, The Typhon comes with an optimized 1 meter umbilical. The umbilical is designed for this specific application. Added length or other types of cabling will degrade the performance of the Typhon due to the weak electrical signal shared between the Typhon and the Triton-- or the Typhon and the wall outlet (for those that use it with dedicated lines and amps). Its best to use the supplied umbilical that is delivered with he Typhon.

Best regards,

Grant

Default Wall or Switch

Guys,

Thinking of Triton V2 here as well.
If I get it with Sigma HC power cable, does it matter if the Sigma go directly into wall or to a surge suppressor that has a switch. Like a Monster Cable or APC?

Thanks for advise.

As far as i read your triton should go straight into a wall socket, preferably into a dedicated "clean" circuit. Not into anything else that could impact/limit the power draw of the triton.

On a different note, i go my tritonv2 and typhon last tuesday - hooked everything up to it (including mc2301's and mac c1100), and although the unit needs to cook for 200 hours, i could notice an immediate improvement in the openness of the sound, sounds more relax without losing detail/punch...

Very very pleased so far

Thank you and I understand why it is to stop further corruption of the power at our wall outlet. But isn't it the Shunyata Triton V2's job to stop and clean whatever current feeding it?

Surely, even if we have a dedicated line into our home, the path from the municipal power company, through the hundreds of transformers feeding into individual meter boxes of our homes are then switched and controlled by breaker boxes, then into single outlets. I guess we can clean somewhere between the breaker box and the meter box, but really the control is at the wall.
So, isn't plugging in another filter between the wall and the Shunyata kind of an non-issue? I mean, doesn't the Shunyata Triton V2 take whatever feeding it, clean it and reconstruct it into the perfect format for great sound?

(OK, i may have lost myself there. But it is my current train of thoughts.)
