Question McIntosh preamplifier with Bryston power amp...

Is there anyone else using McIntosh preamplifier with Bryston power amplifier?

Recently sold my McIntosh MC302 and replacing it with Bryston 4B cubed as now will have 500 watts per channel into 4 ohms vs 300 watts per channel via autotransformer taps. I will miss those beautiful blue meters.

Just wondering how good the match be between McIntosh and Bryston? Since both are north american companies, should match up.

Thoughts on this?

Dan

ps waiting for new amplifier to arrive

McIntosh C47 to reduce number of components. Using built in dac for J River Media software ( entire cd collection is on NAS network drive ). So now only interconnects are balanced cables to amplifier plus of course speaker wires to Magnepan, Thought built in dac in C47 as good or better than Rega dac.

Also needed phono preamp for turntable.

Lots of variables in each of our systems, but I run a McIntosh C2500 pre into a Bryston 14bsst2 amp. I'm very happy with this combination and I'm sure you will be as well.

Having said the above, I really am interested in swapping out the Bryston amp for an MC452 in the near future. My gut tells me the synergy (buzzword) between my C2500/MX121 front end and a Mac amp would be the ultimate combo. Yes, and the meters and lights all working together would be cool too!

The synergy between C2500 and MC452 should be ultimate. Just with Magnepan's they have better synergy with Bryston.

Personally i have had good luck with a McIntosh/Bryston lashup. My thoughts are that, as long as the I/O impedance are compatible, the various manufacture's components should play together well. That being said, I don't thing that Mac and Bryston share their engineering ideologies or otherwise design their devices to be compatible.
