HI
Yes we are going to offer an upgrade - called the BDP-2.5. It means a new CPU and a different rear panel. james Last edited by James Tanner - Bryston; 03-01-2017 at 06:19 AM. |

Hi Sandman
A new internal CPU will replace the current BDP-2 unit and the rear panel has to be replaced as the connections on the CPU are in different locations than the current rear panel. Also some internal wiring needs replacement. james Last edited by James Tanner - Bryston; 03-01-2017 at 07:51 AM. |

How much RAM? How will it differ from the BDP-3?

Hi
It will be identical to the BDP-3 if you do the upgrade. james |

No sorry still working that out - I assume about 1/3rd the cost of a new unit but I have to wait for the bean counters to do their thing. james |

I would not worry about an upgrade to the BDP-2 unless you are thinking about being able to play pure DSD instead of DSD over DoP. I really think it is just Bryston's on going pursuit to make the BDP-2 a state of the art digital play back unit. For me, and probably most others, the improvements are unnecessary and will provide no additional sonic benefits, but will facilitate the fast download of even higher resolutions just in case the software is produced. However, this is pure speculation on my part.
