Howie, you may recall that you encouraged me to upgrade to the ch precision c1. Like you, i find it to be an incredible unit. Not sure if you've added the x1 dedicated external power unit, but if not, i would recommend it. I added it in the fall and it dropped the noise floor even further, seems like there's even more full weight to the c1 sound. I have been using both ethernet and coax but may try the AES to compare with the coax when spinning CDs.

Hi Harmonix, what is the new hat in DAC that you can suggest as my next upgrade is a DAC.
Thanks.

You mean the X1 power supply? Ok let me look into it.

Cheers

I haven't tried all of them yet but my current audition list would be:

Berkeley Reference DAC
Boulder 2120 (ouch!...)
EMM Labs DA2
Nagra HD DAC + MPS
Trinity

p.s. Had a chance to try the Nagra with the MPS recently - I liked it very much

Funny that you put ouch! next to Boulder only, when Trinity is $56k ... makes the Trinity DAC look almost affordable

BTW - I know of one Trinity DAC for sale at a good price. PM me if interested.

Well actually the trinity is EUR40k but in USD this has come down a lot so it's around US$46k at this point and not above my ouch point of $50k+

;-)

Elberoth, tried to send you a PM, but system message indicated you can not accept PMs.

Sorry. I'm not a 'subsriber' anymore. You can reach me on variety of audio forums like Computer Audio or WBF. I use same username everywhere.
