My first pair of speakers were Celestion SL6SI that I bought new. I have owned a pair of these twice over the years. Currently, I have a pair of Celestion SL12SI.

My first speakers were AR4as. They were all I could afford.

I've owned a pair of SL6s and 6sis as well. The SL6s had a sweet as syrup sound that was luscious. There was an awful lot at both extremes that was missing but what was there was as euphonic as anything I'd heard until then. The Si's tweeter upgrade helped in the high end at the expense of a touch of the 6s remarkable euphony. However what it did do for me was to reinforce the need for some deeper bass. Finding something that was as sweet in the middle with more extension on the ends took a lot of hunting.

I still remember both of those models fondly though. Very easy going sound.

Bose 301s were my first speakers. I thought I had entered high-end audio nirvana.

My first were advents, then I moved "up" to the 301s.

My first pair of "real" speakers were the AR-4X as well. By "real" I mean they weren't of homemade cabinets. I used them with a Marantz 1030 amp. I still have both speakers and amp; though they are not used.
