One of these passed me going in the opposite direction yesterday. It was lightly camouflaged but it looked pretty cool. It was likely headed to the GM Proving Grounds near me.

I don’t agree with banning gas stations to force people to switch but it’s the reality we are faced with. The EV revolution has begun.

Did you read the article in your link? It doesn't suggest "banning gas stations." So no, that's not "the reality we are faced with."

The EV revolution is underway, though. It's pretty amazing.

The movement could grow too. An organization called the Coalition Opposing New Gas Stations has been pushing to stop construction of gas stations throughout all of Sonoma county. And California last year said it would ban the sale of new gas-powered cars starting in 2035.


Guess what? It won’t be the windmills and solar panels that will provide reliable and ultra clean energy. They can’t replace and can’t keep up with our current and future demands. Not going to happen, no matter who tells you what lies.

It will be the next generation nuclear power stations which have always been the answer. With a certain degree of inherent risk of a Chernobyl, 3 mile island and Fukushima events, albeit much less chance of that with newer generations, they will provide energy 365 days a year, 24 hrs a day, temperature, wind and sun independent.

Unless there is completely new technology that appears such as cold fusion.

The ban was for "additional" gas stations. They seem to have plenty of capacity already.

Why ban gas future gas stations at all? Why not allow future gas stations with both pumps and chargers? Is the answer not clear? Is this also not a ban of gasoline cars? https://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/artic...s-15591505.php

Of course. It's commonplace for municipalities to make decisions such as this. It's all part of zoning (at least in my state) and long established by the courts.

By way of example, a town just two away from mine decided more than a decade ago to no longer allow as a new "permitted use" gas stations, car dealers, or any business with a drive up access including banks, drug stores, or coffee shops. Of course, the existing businesses are pre-existing permitted uses and are mostly thriving. They're not being driven out of town. And none of this has precluded new development.

The sky is not falling, folks.
