Then BLISS scans the files, makes sure the directories, file names, and cover art are complete. Then I can play the music from the VortexBox with a special USB card and Platinum USB cable through the MCD1100 or use the SONOS Connect to play the files saved on the VortexBox through a Remedy to the MCD1100. The W4S Music server seems to have advantages over the VortexBox in that it is set up and warrantied by an audiophile company. I have not tried BLISS on a Mac or PC but understand it seems to work pretty well on those platforms as well.
Thanks for chiming in!

BLISS is written in Java so thats a plus AND its web based, so it seem very cross platform friendly.

Why rip with the your MS750 vice XLD or any other desktop secure ripping software? Why do you have a Vortex Box, Sonos Connect, and a MS750?

I guess when you're in the hobby and searching to find and sample whats best we tend to accumulate stuff. I have 4 different tagging and ripping software. My personal struggle is analogous to the fact that Netfilx is on every device, why do I need another Netfilx player?

I rip with my MS750 because it is easy, just insert the disc and go. I can listen to the CD before I move FLAC's to the VortexBox and retagging them. I have two VortexBoxes, one for the two channel room and another for the surround sound room. I have SONOS Connects for various rooms around the house, the back porch and the patio out front by the fountain. I only occasionally listen to music in the theater room so I just stream it and was glad that the Remedy improved the SONOS in there. As you say, this is a hobby so I try different pieces of gear to see if it simplifies things. The beauty of SONOS, is the music in FLAC on the VortexBoxes and MS750's are available as well as the ALAC's from my MacPro that I use to distribute TV Shows and Movies obtained from Apple. I suppose that I keep looking for the all elusive one stop solution. To some extent, most audiophiles would prefer not finding it. Much of the fun is in trying new things.

Depends on if you rip the vinyl to hi-rez or not.

He might be hitting 15tb at vinyl ADC to 96/24 (incl about 2-3k CDs).

Which begs the question, who has the best way to rip 15TB of vinyl and put it on your wyred4sound servers?

No idea how to put it onto a W4S server... but ripping vinyl involves a TT, phono pre, ADC, and a computer.

Not to mention the time involved in the actual rip, post processing, tagging, etc. If you were a pro at it, you may be able to do 8/day before wanting to hang yourself.

I am still feeding CDs into my NAS and while I don't want to hang my self, my EtOH intake has increased dramatically.

You're lucky that for you it is truly once-and-done.
