Welcome to AA, John

Could you tell us more about the demo or are you under NDA ?

I'd love to know if they compared it to the competition.

My lol was not directed at the dac, but the "pubic" comment. I'm not dissing the dac, but I doubt it would be an improvement over my k -03. Ivan steered me toward the light, and I'm basking in it.

Thanks for the welcome. We were comparing the DirectStream to the PerfectWave DAC and there was quite a bit of difference between the two as I heard it. The sound is much more natural, better clarity between the mid bass and the lower mid-range. Voices have a more realism quality to it. More instrument separation. The soft top hat cymbal came out of the mix much much better than it did with the PerfectWave. I need to hear it again with my music to have a more firm conclusion. It was easy to tell the two apart. Paul switched the cables manually and did not use a switch box.

They have dropped the price of the PWD at 2k$ which is a steal for this DAC. They are clearing supplies.

The DirectStream is at 6k$, 4k$ with a trade in and 3k$ for an upgrade.

The music sample that was used during the DirectStream demo was Shelby Lynne’s title track from her 2008 release of 'Just a little lovin’. That was all the time we had before the next group that needed to hear the DirectStream. It did not take much time at all to compare the two DAC's That all I can say about the DirectStream at this time.
