My previous impression which still applies:

I have several version of these works, but this disc stands out for its biting performance which Gramophone called "thrillingly theatrical with a sense of joyful drama". The recorded sound, as usual from this French label, is top-notch.

I was confused by the 'Deutschlandfunk' label. I could understand if a James Brown, George Clinton or Curtis Mayfield album had 'Americanfunk' on it, but wondered if baroque mandolin is now considered funk in Germany, maybe thinking that I needed to get out more often. Google resolved it for me.

Good contrast between the first and last symphony. The Telarc recording is vivid and full.

Playing disc 5 which includes orchestral suites. Sounds exuberant and the recording is spot on. I like it
