Agree... my point is; as Ayre is designed for balanced operation, why even consider using SE cables where there's the option of balanced.
Not that anyone cares but I use the SE output from the QB9 with good results as it's my only option. Guess that's why it's there. Great DAC. Wish it did HDCD. Best,
