MC 1.25KW Meter Calibration
Hello peeps I need some help calibrating one of my mc1.25kw meter. I ran some test tones one matches the db level of the C1100 quite accurately. The other one is much higher on the scale and I just want to match it to the one which is I feel is accurate and closer to the C1100 db level. I know the correct way is to apply the dummy load, use a volt meter etc. but it's easier for me this way.
The amps are only 2 months old under warranty but it's a huge hassle for me to bring it down the stairs and carry it to the store or service center. I ran a few test tones and test music it's not the amp itself both output same volume just one meter is much higher. Kind of surprised to see this on a new amp! Need to figure out how to access the pots and which one is used for calibration. Btw zero settings are same on both so no issues there. TIA |

This might be best addressed with a phone call to Mc support. Sorry I can't help.

MC 1.25KW Meter Calibration
If it’s like my MC462, the adjustment pots used to calibrate the meters are right under the top cover that is immediately behind the front glass. This cover was easily removed. Once removed, the meter adjustment pots for my MC462 were easily accessible and marked for each meter. Keep in mind that there is also a pot that is for adjusting the illumination color and is marked as such, I would suggest you don’t mess with that one. It took a small Phillips head screwdriver to make the adjustment. Unfortunately, if your amp is like the MC452, the adjustment pots are accessed from the bottom of the amp and you’ll have to remove the bottom cover for access. I don’t know why the MC452 has access from the bottom and the MC462 has access from the top, but believe me, if yours is accessible from the top like my MC462, it’s much easier. I would try starting with removing the cover I described above because it’s easy to do and it will be obvious if your pots are accessible at that location.
If you search this site, there is a photo taken of the meter calibration pot from an MC452 which is marked. This will show you what they look like.
