Get some help from Wilson Audio as Metaphacts suggests -- you'll be better off than with the one you hired, regardless of his qualifications.

Best Sirs,

Bob

To the op:

The lack of bass response in your room, almost certainly has to do with the acoustics of room. The Alexx has tons of bass.

If I am not mistaken, you also owned Magico M3 speakers in the last few months right?

You may consider getting a detailed acoustical analysis of your room and adding tons of bass traps. Please know, bass traps do not definitely reduce bass. In most cases they dramatically tighten bass and overall it feels like bass has increased.

I hate to be repetitive but until the speaker has been properly sited, there is no point in treating your room (as opposed to building a new "room within a room" out of treatments which can be done at any time).

Please contact your Wilson dealer or Jerron at Wilson Audio (801-377-2233) so you can get your Alexx's doing what they should be doing in your room.

I do want to point out that the bass response for the Alexias in my room was very good, so I dont think the room is the problem.
My dealer is coming today
I guess at this juncture will try:
1-Position/alignment
2-Different amplifier
3-Remove or modify the bass resistors as last resort

I appreciate the advice.

Just wondering aloud ... did you buy your dealer’s showroom speakers since you heard the same characteristics in that pair, in his demo room. Will watch thread for updates after dealer visit.

My apologies for pushing.

I found out today that you had talked to Trent and your dealer. I did not know that when I posted this morning.

HFIII is as good as it gets. I'm sure things will be sounding great after his visit.

Great news -- I'm optimistic it will be a wonderful outcome.

Please relay the details of any changes made this go round.

Best Sir,

Bob

My dealer spent considerable time today pursuing causes for why the Alexx was underperforming and discovered numerous issues including driver alignment, inadequate power supply/cords and after these were adjusted, the sound is considerably better. I'm confident that with some additional cable upgrades, my aspirations for this speaker will be realized. Whew! I guess the Alexx is very revealing of the downstream components.
