Also seeing as there isn't much wiggle room when going less then 2 meters, when going more, say beyond 4 meters is there a point then that a different power cord other then WireWorld should be considered?

Thanks for the info, Dan. I knew that two meter PCs were recommended over one meter by WW, I didn't realize that two meters was considered optimal. That is good news (better for my budget). I went with a two meter Stratus for my system and love it. I would like to try an Electra later this year. Although with my modest system I don't know if it could handle (for lack of a better word) the Electra.

According to the experience of an admittedly non-audiophile WireWorld employee I spoke with at CES, she noticed an improvement with a 1 meter WW PC over a stock cable in listening demonstrations. She said she heard a very noticeable further improvement when moving from 1 meter to the 2 meter length. Beyond 2 meters, she said any improvements were very slight at best and hard for her to detect. Therefore, she recommended the 2 meter length as the most improvement for the buck. Longer lengths would be advisable strictly because the extra length was needed. Her comments were in regards to the Silver Electra model. For what it's worth, she felt that the SE model was the sweet spot in the line from a price vs. performance improvement standpoint. This was based on listening demonstrations she had witnessed.

Transparent default length is also 2 meters. That seems to be the 'magic' length for most power cords.

I also concur on the 2.0M length.

bigblue, it has been over a year since I compared the Electra vs the Silver Electra. I remember hearing more detail not brightness.

Samac, I put my Electra's on my HT system which is an Arcam processor and 7.1 amp. I noticed a difference but not as much as on the more expensive 2 channel system. I lent a fellow coworker some Eclipse and Silver Eclipse to try on his Marantz HT system and he didn't notice any difference. He has quite a room with theater seats, all insulated with 120" screen. Mine is only 110". The picture size matters more to him than the sound, which is still good.

Paul, thanks for the Electra insight. I've had my Stratus PC in my system for about a month now and it is excellent. I can't imagine having to use a stock cable again. On my amp in my system it was a night/day difference between the stock cable and the Stratus.

I have a modest system but my speakers have horn mids and highs and are very revealing. It will be interesting to try the Electra someday. Right now my system sounds very good with what I have to work with. It's a good dynamic easy to listen to set up but with my speakers the sound can get to forward, bright and lean in the mids quickly with the wrong cabling or component.

Thanks PMCH, I will probably go with the SE version then. IMO the power cables usually are the ones that makes the biggest difference. In order to keep the budget that probably means I will have to go with the Eclipse cables instead of the Silver Eclipse.

I've purchased 5 Electra's in 2m from Ivan instead of the SE in 1m.

I guess I'll update slowly to SE over time but it was quite expensive for a first purchase.

I need to run more tests and install them all but time is scarce lately. Anyway, I've noticed an improvement in my system over my DIY cables.

I also use the Electra 7's apart from the pre amp, which has a SE on it, and I'm delighted with the performance, they see off several considerably more expensive cords I've tried. I may upgrade over time, but I'm happy enough I see no rush
