The font porch is line stage which are all of the other sources including CD & CDR. Consider Tesla E83CC gold pin here.

Xuxa.......Those Tesla E83CC's are the real deal. Finding them or the Telefunken ECC803S tubes, both with the genuine Frame Grid, is next to impossible. Lots of fakes, but if you know what you are looking at they are easy to spot. The real deal Tesla E83CC and Telefunken ECC803S are in high demand and extremely low quantities so prices are off the chart when and if one can actually find them. The cathode material was a secret, not patented, and now that the master craftsmen are gone so are the formulas and materials. I would love to own a quad of NOS Tesla E83CC or Telefunken ECC803S tubes.

Not too hard to find at the moment. I just purchased a matched quad. There are websites out there that will tell you what to look for to know you are getting the real deal. I have been running the Tesla E83CC for almost a year now previously in my C2300 and now my C500, line stage and phono. Best 12ax7 tube I have ever heard. Thanks go to MyPal (Steve) for the tip. Mine are identical to those pictured above.

That's fantastic! Glad to read that these iconic short frame grid tubes are in your McIntosh gear.

Thanks. And thanks to you. I no longer have to waste my spare pair in both phono positions. The manual does not specify whether its V1 or V2 left/right for the moving coil stage but now I know it's the front position (which by memory I think is labeled V2) based on your post up thread. Cheers.
