Default Vivid k1 - Most noteworthy demo at SSI 2015.

These speakers can rock. I am listening to Khmer by Nils Petter Molvaer very loud as I post this, sounding clean, fast and sublime bass quality

I dislike the colour but I am a great fan of K1s, my ex speakers...
Luxman M800a are great partners obviously. ;-)

One of the rare speakers to outperform most of its contenders on every musical genre

I think the amps in the pic are the M600A's.

Indeed it is. It seems that Luxman is a very good match for Vivid Speakers

Components used in the demo;

Also surprising about this demo was that the amplifiers used weren’t all that powerful: Luxman M-600As, bridged to mono, in which mode their maximum claimed power output is only 120W into 8 ohms. Though of only average sensitivity, the Oval K1s tend to be fairly easy for most amps to drive, which I guess accounts for some of what I heard. Also in the chain were a Luxman C-600f preamplifier and a Luxman DA-06 DAC; everything was linked with interconnects and speaker cables from Transparent Audio.

I love the colour, although i would go with a darker shade, What i didn't like was the huge additional cost for colour. It costs less to order a car in a "premium " colour and even that is a stupid thing. I have always assumed prices on most premium colours are because people want exclusivity in the car park. Speakers on the other hand are rarely seen by others and its more about taste and decor in the rest of the room. In some markets Fords no cost colour is very similar to that red,

Thats why my Vivids are black.

Oups...
Yes they are M600. :-)
Using Luxman in bridged mode is a totally different story than using a single strereo amp.
My two M800a are very stable, and they send plenty of power. I had the opportunity to compare them with plenty of big boys and they never seemed underpowered.
But The K1 are not very difficult loads. The most surprising result achieved with my previous K1s has been with a modestly powered class D SPEC RSA 717EX. In my opinion it's one of the best match for the K1s at relatively low price.

Joel , I am continually surprised how well my modest amp, 85w into 8 ohms, drive the K1's

Definitely.
The SPEC RSA-717 EX outputs not more than 60 W @ 8 Ohms.
Giya series are nevertheless more difficult loads despite their rather friendly sensitivity.
