Default Found a pic of my main rig in 1979!

Here is my Main rig from the mid/late 70's:
Top to Bottom:
H/K Rabco ST8 w/Sonus Gold Blue Cartridge
RG Systems RG Pro16 Range Expander
Sansui TU9900 Tuner
Soundcraftsman R2215 EQ
H/K Citation 17s Preamp with rack handles
Nakamichi 600 cassette deck
Inside the bottom of the custom built cabinet were 2 McIntosh MC2100 power amps run in Mono with whisper fans for cooling
Speakers were Janszen Z824's 2-12" sealed woofers and 8 electrostatic panels in each cabinet.
I have many fond memories of this system which I ran for 5 years.
Regards,
Jim

I'm gonna search my other darkroom stuff tonight to see if I can find a pic of the speakers. These are not mine but the outside cabinets are the Z824's, and I will try and find a pic with the grill covers on. I always raised mine up 7-8 inches.

Regards,
Jim

+1. Here's mine, circa 1977. The Crown IC150, DC300 and the Soundcraftsmen RP2212 Equalizer still serve me today in my office rig. The Record cabinet and SAE 5000 still reside in my main system today. The speakers were on the other side of the room, they were JBL L100A's.

One of these days I need to re-scan these to a higher resolution.

Pete, That is some nice Crown Gear. Have you had them gone through since then?
Regards,
Jim

Jim....The IC150A preamp has been extremely reliable over the years, with only one repair incident-and that was about 20 years ago, at least. That repair was simply for replacing leaky power supply caps, which were giving me hum. The older DC300 amp has been gone through a few times-I gave it to my brother and then bought it back from him about 10 years ago. The aging boards and components in this amp have caused some issues that have been for the most part remedied. The amp still gets a little moody once in a while but continues to serve me well.

I have an attachement to these components, and would still one day like to acquire the "newer" model DC300A amplifier which would be a bit of a step up in performance, and would be the ideal cosmetic match to the IC150A. I've come close a couple of times to pulling the trigger on one, but still haven't. The IC150A/DC300 combo drives a pair of JBL 4401 monitors in my office, augmented by a PB10 sub.

Pete.......I don't remember you ever mentioning you owned a Revox A77 reel to reel tape deck. I owned one, too, back in the late 70's. It is a great reel to reel. I spent many hours making mixed music tapes and playing them. I'll bet you wish you still owned that Revox.
