Boulder Electronics, AMG Viella turntable, REL subwoofers and Vienna Acoustics Loudspeakers. This is a very nice sounding room, dynamics out the wazoo and tight clean bass. So far this is a contender for best sound at show. Also want to mention how nice and friendly the Boulder guys are here...it's too bad that not all rooms had the same friendly feel.......hint hint....looking at you Synergistic Research. BTW, this was the debut of the new AMG Viella Forte turntable....retails for a cool $32,000.

We attended the Wilson Audio get together for an introduction of the new XVX which was looking very impressive in a white finish. They had one on static display along with a single WAMM Chronosonic....dang things are bigger in real life than they look in pictures.
Here's Steve next to one for scale: Here's Ed next to the new XVX: Daryl Wilson discussing the creations, you can see the scale of how big these things are. Very impressive......and Daryl is a tall guy.

Wilson Audio's active system involved VTL amplification, DCS Vivaldi source, Sasha DAWs and Watchdog subwoofers. Excellent sound as usual from the Wilson Audio guys, also a shoutout to Bill (metaphacts) who was present as well. One of the more fun moments had Daryl doing a "raffle" of sorts and 3 people won a very nice history of Wilson Audio hardback book, one of which was our own Marc (2fastdriving). Afterwards, Daryl Wilson not only autographed it for him, but wrote down that he was giving Marc a "coupon" for a buy one get one free Chronosonic XVX. So let's see.....by my math that's around a $175,000 discount. Not bad. Whether or not he was kidding or serious remains to be seen. Who knows?
big VTL monos:

Just for you Stephen, these were in a small system in the alcove to the main LUMIN room. Very near field setup, but sounded very nice playing Abbey Road.

Thank you guys.....great writeups and photos. Did they have the new Wilsons hooked up and playing? If so, how did they sound?
BTW...most photos are showing up well on mobile app but for some reason all that Tony is posting cannot be seen on mobile app, the links don't seem to expand correctly. |

Here's a few more shots from yesterday before we start Sunday's activities. This was The Sonus Faber SF 17. Very impressive in person, the things are huge and the finish impeccable. They weren't playing at this point, they had the new Olympica Novas playing off to the side. We came back and listened to them later in the afternoon.
Last picture here is Rob and Steve discussing how they are going to finance a pair to take home.
