Default BW 702 and Center Revealed

In person....

Note the continuum driver is bigger than on the 804d3.... So weird. Are they trying to cannibalize sales?

Looking good though... Silver metal accents... Good stuff!

People in this price range are in for a treat. They now have access to the continuum cone... Which is the very definition of the D3 series.

I wonder if the other 7 series also have the continuum.

They all have continium. The tweeter is carbon tweeter so not the classical Alu domes anymore. The bass drivers are based on the aerofoil technology. The housing stays the same as the CM series. I tried to post it 2 days ago but I did not see it on the forum, no idea why....

When I listened to the CM10 and the 804d3 back to back on the same (Mcintosh and Rotel) equipment I honestly did not notice a big difference in the two at all. Of the two I would definitely buy the CM10 based on the huge price difference. With this new 702, there will be even less reason to buy a 804, unless you feel strongly about made in the UK, or if you want a matching system with 804 rear/surrounds.

Joey, will these replace the CM-series eventually?

Looking good indeed.

I think they are going to replace them very soon. One big retailer in the US has already put all the CM line of speakers on clearance at 50% off list price.

The new speakers look great, similar to previous CM line from what I could tell.

It's going to be a great series I bet.

Who has cm10 for 50% off? I don't think even magnolia has them for that low. Btw, all cm10 from magnolia are gone.

The new bass drivers are aerofoil? Really?

What's the point of the D3 then? If all the tech except for diamond and the cabinet is all but shared?
