I spoke to Boulder about this... 3060 beats 2050 or 2150 monoblocks.

Aditya, I posed this same question to Boulder.. given the choice of Boulder 2150 monoblocks or the 3060 the choice most certainly would be the 3060. Most of my listening is around 50-55 db with a calibrated meter. However, I have run the Q3 to VERY loud volume levels in my 17 x 25 room but surprisingly the analyzer returned 90 db peak at the listening chair. I feel I’m hardly tapping into the 3060. Any additional power would be completely unnecessary. The Magico 7” woofers do not require this level of power so the amplifier with the better quality is preferrable.

Additionally, the speakers come alive at low frequencies like I have never experienced before with the addition of the MIT SHD interconnects which articulate with equal power down to 10 hz. I have never experienced this quality and quantity of low bass extension from Q3’s until installing the MIT’s.

Thank you Tony. I listened to the 2160 stereo amp with Magico S5's today. Although, I will be open to other brands, I am strongly favoring the 2160/2110 combo. That 4 chassis design in the 2110 combo is just amazing, weighing at about 120 pounds! Such a transparent combo with the M3.

I think I will give MIT cables a hard look. Sounds like Magico uses Oracle Super HD 120's, oracle MA-X rev 3 interconnect, as well as the oracle z-cord reference power cords in their own system. I've actually done quite a bit of reading on this in the past few days, and the synergy of these cables with the Magico sound may well be something that would be appealing!

I'm confused Aditya -- the Wilson Audio poll shows you have a pair of Alexx speakers. Are you in search of moving down to the Magico M3's?

Best Sir,

Bob

I believe Aditya currently owns a pair of the new B&W line. Alexx is the stuff of dreams IMO. Seems to be a perfect speaker in my eyes but I could never pay that much for ANY speaker.
