Good cable from iPad to pre-amp

I plan on buying the new iPad mini when it is released this month. Then I plan on using my current iPad Retina as a source to my pre-amp. This means I will use Apple Radio to discover new music to buy. Since Apple Radio streams lossy music, and I doubt the iPad DAC is the greatest in the world, I want to make sure I do not do any more damage to the music by hooking it up with a cheapo cable.


My question is what is a good cable to connect the iPad to the pre? I will be plugging the USB power into my Triton.

Here's what I would do:

get an Airport Express. Use Airplay to send the music from your iPad (Air or Mini or Retina) to the Airport. Hook up a mini optical to standard Toslink cable from the AE to your DAC of choice.

Completely agree... for decent sound, you must use a better DAC than any in the Apple equipment.

Will the Airport Express send music streamed over Apple Radio? Or only digital files stored on the iPad? I am doing this to use Apple Radio to discover new music.

I assume you mean "Radio" in the iTunes store. The answer is yes. You can stream anything from iTunes to the Express. Or to an Apple TV for that matter.

Yes. That's right. iTunes Radio in the music folder with IOS7.

I'm having the same plan. I'm picking models of Wireworld which has a lot of good mini jack-rca cables.
